IWC Schaffhausen also unveiled its new Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 at Watches & Wonders.
This handsome QP is another collaboration, marking the first stainless steel model to combine the Genta-style Ingenieur design with the perpetual calendar developed by watchmaker Kurt Klaus.
Klaus Russell, who designed the Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Chronograph in 1985, is now a well-deserved star. In 2024, the brand celebrated Klaus Russell’s 90th birthday with the Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition “Rodeo Drive”. This year, the heritage of the king of perpetual calendars is perfectly presented on the 41 mm case, bezel and bracelet, which are satin-brushed and polished.
The blue dial features the Ingenieur’s signature “grid” dial with three subdials for the date, day of the week, month and perpetual moon phase.
It is worth mentioning that thanks to the reduction gear system with two intermediate wheels, the moon phase display will only have an error of one day every 577.5 years. At the same time, the IWC 82600 self-made high-precision movement equipped with a Pellaton automatic winding system and ceramic components can be seen through the sapphire glass back.
Finally, in addition to the week display, the small dial at 9 o'clock also has a small leap year indicator for counting down the year of the next leap year.
